Blog break

As you all have noticed,I haven't been around a lot in blog land.

I have had the flu and had a lot of pain in my joints,so writing and crafting was something I haven't been doing a while.I also have a very sore neck and shoulders so I think I must have overdone it on the computer.I now am taking a little break from blogging and going to focus on getting better.

Many many hugs and kisses from me to all of you!♥

Minori encori

Fred I received the sweetest package in the world!remember I told you about the little hedgehog I ordered from Minori design....welll this little one turned out to be a wee mouse!Corrie already brought it to my attention and when I took another look,by jolly: It is a mouse!!!!I think the pins in the picture had me thinking it was a hedgehog.Well my dearest Theresia already told me it was a mouse and she also said,I am sending you a present I think you will love it.(She is the sweetest person,I am so glad to have met her on the www)

Oh Boy was she right!I opened up the package and there they were. Two perfect little critters. My dear mouse and Fred!the cutest little hedgie you have EVER seen!Look at his face,he is such a character!Theresia named him after her father.isn't that sweet!Receiving him as a present from dear T,makes him even more special.I decided there and then I am not going anywhere without Fred.He is going to be my pallie in my handbag.I am going to sew him a little bag to keep him from getting  dirty and he is my travel companion from now on.I even wanted him to sleep on my pillow but I was afraid I might smutter him in my sleep.Thank you dear Theresia for both my mouse and my Fred.Mouse is going to be my sewing companion and Fred my travel buddy.Thank you for being so sweet and I am so glad we have met on the www .I hope we get a chance to meet in real life some day!Muis_en_fred_001 (dan kunnen we een senseo drinken met een plak ontbijtkoek)

(translation:I hope to have a cup of coffee with Theresia some day with a dutch slice of lowfat cookie called ontbijtkoek.Something I practically live on each day)

This is.......

Show me your bookshelf and I will tell you who you are"

This is a quote by someone I can not remember but I find it to be true.

Looking through someones bookshelves teaches us a lot about that person.I know I have put some of you(including myself) in a rough spot when I asked you to only choose One book! But I was hoping to find everyones deepest feelings on books by reducing the choice to only one.Why is it ,we sort of feel guilty having to choose only one and doing injustice to allll the other books we love???Well I guess that is food for thought again.Thank you all for joining me and I can not wait to see all your books!

Here is my unconditional passionately loved and favorite book:

Nachtwandelaar_002_3 "de Nachtwandelaar by Marianne Frederiksson.

If I had to translate the title I would say :"he who walks by night"

I have done a post about this book already, but it remains my ultimate favorite book so I will have to tell you about it again. It tells the story of a young boy named Marcus who was born at the same time that Jesus was born.He is raised by a  slave called Seleme. His real mother sells Seleme when Marcus is a little boy and he instantly goes blind. His grandfather wants to help him and askes a very special man to take care of Marcus. His name is Anjalis.A philosopher ,a mystical man.It turns into  a very special friendship between the boy and the man.

When I  finished reading the book I felt bad for two whole days,I couldn't let go of the caracters.I wanted to cry with Marcus, and go on my nightly walks with Anjalis.Oh sigh ...just thinking about it makes me want to start reading it again.

I don't know if it has been translated into english.I know Marianne's book Hanna's daughters has been a huge succes all through the world.I love every single book she has written.Marianne Frederiksson died last year.I deeply regret that, but cherish all of her work even more now.

Thank you for sharing all your books.I will go over to your blogs now and hope to get to know you all a little bit more.Sorry to have made this such a difficult one for some of you but I do hope you had fun too!

hugs Dees

Art and ghosts and dolls oh my......

Arts_and_ghosts_003 Yesterday started out really bad.Babette had a doctors appointment in the hospital and after waiting for two hours we heard the woman in front of us had an appointment an hour before us!!!You can imagine.....

I am down with the flew and with this one my joints hurt.My hands and feet and knees are all sore.So the day wasn't going to well but when we finally made it home.....There it was.My new Art and ghosts ! I had been eying it ever since I bought the other ones from dearest Lou,and it never came up for sale anymore and a while ago I saw  it in her etsy shop and snatched the last one!So happy I did because it is even more gorgeous up close then I already thought it would be.Lou  included the cutest card ever, and AN EXTRA PRINT!I instantly forgot all the hassle from the sh..ty morning I had and felt better by looking at all the magical wonderful artwork.Arts_and_ghosts_005_2

I already said it Lou,but thank thank thank you!

I also ordered my first large BJD doll. She is a D.I.M doll (Doll in mind)Benetia.Thumb_dimhappybenetiaicon And yes she is a little vampire.I always wanted a doll that looked like Claudia, from Anne Rice's book "Interview with a vampire"and now I think I have found her.Her face up is going to be different.I have found a wonderful new doll shop right here in Holland called Triskelfantasy and I bought the doll there and Miriam is going to do the face-up on my doll when she arrives. So exciting can't wait for her to get here!

See you all tomorrow.I can not wait to see all your books!I know I made it a really difficult theme by only asking to tell my about ONE book!I too have trouble choosing and feel very guilty towards alllll my other book friends who are staring at me and going:Hé!What about me!I thought I was your favorite!

This is....my latest discovery :Minori Design!

I have made  a lot of new discoveries lately but I decided to share this one in particular with you. There were so many really cute things I discovered,I will start at the beginning.Remember I told you about Emily Martin's appearance on the Martha Stewart show?Well while she was working on her doll, she had the cutest pincushion standing right next to her.It was a hedgehog made of linen with lace embellishments.I played back the video just to see the little hedgie and was totally smitten by it.Then by pure coincidence someone by the name of Chocolatenpoudre caught my eye on flickr with her cute crafts and scrolling down I SAW THE LITTLE HEDGEHOG!!!!Theresia, the mother of all the cute creations posted it to share with the world that her hedgehog made an appearance on the Martha show!!!I of course commented on it to tell her I already spotted her cuteness and complimented her on her art.I received a reply IN DUTCH!that is always such a surprise when it happens.Turns out Theresia is a real globetrotter and has lived in different places all over the world.(But she is dutch!)Now she lives in the UK.I wrote her yesterday that I was going to order one of her hedgehogs as soon as I had made a sale again in my etsy shop.I closed the frame and opened my mailbox and PING!congratulations on your sale on etsy it said!

Well,it took me about two seconds to get back to Theresa's site and ordered my very own hedgehog here she is: Mouse1large_2

Isn't she adorable? Can't wait for her to arrive!

So this is my latest discovery Minoridesign she has the cutest things, kittens hedgehogs dolls you name it and she has a great Blog too!

Thank you Knitowl for coming up with this fun theme!

'This is.... my perfect dinner party guest list'

This weeks theme in This is..... is such a great one!Thank you Lily and Agathe!

So me and my significant other get to choose 6 people living or dead, famous or not.....WOW what an amazing thought to be able to do that...What recipe should I make, what to wear, what questions to ask, what table setting........

My perfect dinner guest list would look like this:

1Krishnamurti.I would ask him all the big questions in life and would love to feel his presence and feel what it is like to sit so close to someone that is so loving and peaceful.

2The Dalai Lama.Being around someone like him would be a life changing experience.

3 Jane Goodall.I would love to talk chimp with her.I have a strong love for primates and I have a very very deep respect for Jane and the way she approaches live.

4 Pipi Longstocking..she is my childhood heroine.Everything I was afraid to do,she would show me that it could be done and I want to thank her for it

5 Ok John Travolta, because he was the first man I ever fell in love with

Last but certainly NOT least my dear dad who died 4 years ago.At the risk of wanting to keep him here after the dinner is over,I would love to ask him how he is and what passing over is like but most of all:Are you happy where you are dad and do you still see and feel us?
